The tropical rainforests of Malaysia are some of the oldest in the world. The rainforest is an ecosystem that supports a vast interdependant web of life, much of which has not yet even been identified. It is estimated that of more than 16 million species of animals and plants in the world, half are to be found in the very rainforests humans are callously destroying at an alarming rate.
It is projected that at the current rate of depletion, most of South-east Asia’s rainforestes will be destroyed by the year 2020, leading to countless species of animals and plants disappearing forever.
Fruit Break currently sponsors Reg and Katie who are both 2 Years old.
Along with two other orphaned babies Orang Utans in this sanctuary, Reg and Katie a looked after by full time rangers who monitor their growth, health and saftey.
We endeovour to sponsor more orphans each year until they are old enough to have independant status within the larger sanctuary.
